Winter 2024 Biddy Basketball
WBGC Biddy Basketball is an 8-week instructional program in which participants will learn the fundamental techniques, skills and rules of basketball in a fun, team environment.
The focus of this program is on technical development and building confidence with the ball. This co-ed program is open to Boys and Girls in Grades 2 & 3. All registered players will be assigned to a team, with all practices and games taking place in the WBGC gymnasium.
2024 SEASON Schedule:
Preseason Clinic (Facilitated by Bentley University Women’s Basketball)
Date: Monday December 11, 2023
Time: 6:00pm and 7:00pm
Players will receive confirmation of their time slot after registering.
Practices Start: Tuesday January 16, 2024
No Practices: February 20 & 22, 2024 (Feb Vacation)
No Games: Feb 17, 2024
Season Ends: Saturday March 16, 2024
Cost: $150/player
Teams will have 1 x 60 minute midweek practice per week (led by parent volunteer coach/es) followed by 1 game each Saturday during the season.
Practices will take place on Tuesday OR Thursday evening at 6pm OR 7pm. Each team will be assigned their recurring weekly practice slot once teams have been formed after completion of the Preseason Clinic.
Games will take place on Saturday mornings with games scheduled at one of the following time slots – 9am/10am/11am/12pm. The full season game schedule will be provided once all rosters have been set. All players will receive a colored t-shirt which will act as their uniform for games.
Coaching:
Coaching will be provided by volunteer parent/guardian coaches (see below). Our aim is to create balanced team rosters across the program to ensure games are as much fun as possible for all participants. Note that team standings will NOT be kept in line with the program philosophy of focusing on development rather than competition.
