If you’d like to learn more about WBGC’s Watertown Wavemakers Swim team or arrange a tryout, please contact Head Coach Erin Hickey via email at wavemakers@watertownbgc.org.

Try-outs for new members are available upon request. We typically ask that our swimmers are able to swim 50 yards (2 lengths) of the freestyle and backstroke, and 25 yards (1 length) of the breaststroke and butterfly.

The Watertown wavemakers

Who are the Watertown Wakemakers?: A Division I Swim Team of the Northeast New England Area Program Council and the swim team of Watertown Boys & Girls Club.

We are a fun, energetic, and competitive team that focuses on the development of our swimmers through progressive, technical training, building endurance and participation in a competitive calendar. The team will compete in a schedule of swim meets against other Boys & Girls Clubs in the area during the competitive season.

The Wavemakers offer practice four times per week, Tuesday-Friday. Swimmers are assigned by the coaches to one of two practice groups, which are separated by age and ability. The first group of beginners & intermediate swimmers practices from 5:00-6:30, and the senior/advanced group practices from 6:30-8:00. Swimmers do not need to attend practice every day, but they do need to attend twice per week on days of their choosing to participate in swim meets on Saturdays.

Who can be part of the team?: Swimmers, ages 7 to 18 who complete a tryout and attend and participate in two practices per week at their assigned time. Swimmers should be able to demonstrate a positive attitude, good sportsmanship, and a strong work ethic at practice.

Fall/Winter Season Cost: $300.00
