2020 Summer Camp Update:
June 8, 2020
Dear WBGC Families,
We hope you and your families are safe and well. The Watertown Boys & Girls Club Team has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 updates from the Center for Disease Control, the American Camp Association, and the state and local health departments with the safety of our community as our top priority. We have been evaluating the available options for summer camp 2020 within the context of the current situation.
WBGC Staff and Board of Directors have made the decision to cancel our Summer Camps for 2020.
We want you to know this decision was not made lightly. Over the past couple of months, the WBGC team has worked tirelessly to examine every possibility to make summer camp a reality. We explored the possibility of modifying our programming plans, facilty usage, and drop-off / pick-up procedures. We re-examined medical practices and staffing requirements while considering these guidelines. Despite these efforts, we concluded that there is too much uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 for us to confidently operate a safe and high-quality camp this summer.
This news in incredibly disappointing for all of us, as none of us could have imagined we would see a summer without camp. As disappointed as we all are, we will not compromise when it comes to the safety and well-being of our campers and staff. We know our campers and staff will miss this summer together. At this time, we will begin to shift our focus to ensuring a safe, fun, and healthy program at the Club for the Fall.

THANK YOU for your support during these uncertain times.
